Northwest Trip: Day 1/2 - Heading North

Heading out from Murdoch Car Park 6

We arrived at the farm late afternoon, set up tents, dealt with dinner, and then it was dark. Took some photos the next morning before we left.

Inside the barn...

This place was originally a penal colony. This was the governor's mansion at the time:

It had rained and my tent took on a bunch of water so for our night here I slept out back of the barn. On the table so that no interesting crawlies decided to share my sleeping bag.

This was my view. I would have enjoyed it more if the roosters hadn't been on Sydney time and crowing since 3am!

City Beach

This is one of the places I plan to be spending lots more time once school's out!

There's lots of dune restoration work along the coast here.

This and that...

For an urban beach, really good distance between coast and housing here.

Lake Monger Reserve

View of Perth CBD from Lake Monger

Springtime at the reserve...

Clive, wishing he could swim:

Jules authoritatively informs me that this is the "Australian long-nosed black-assed whitebird":

Lots more critters:

hmm, good idea!

More Trigg - and Bennion St. Cafe

A rough job...

My fave beach cafe:

Campus

This post's for u Mom!
The campus is about 10 years old so all the buildings sorta match and look like this:

Heading up to the central courtyard...

A little closer...

And from the breezeway, I must be coming in from a biology lecture - the Indigenous studies stuff is out the other side...

I have a couple more pics but they can be for another day... still on the camera... :)
* * *

Oh here are some more that were elsewhere in the PC... this one is bio lab, first day, before we went in. The ones still on the camera are lots more creepy!!!

Some funky plants around campus:

Kangaroo Paw (budding)

and in flower:

Banksia:

Funky Proteaceae:

I have no idea... needed to practise using the close-up focus on the digital...

so ya you know those funky elven forest type trees in LOTR. well it turns out they're just regular trees...
Eucalyptus (i haven't figured out which kind):

Animal Exercise Beach

At this beach it's turn right if you're with a horse, turn left if you're with a dog. We turned left. I have never seen so many dogs in one place in my WHOLE LIFE. Daschunds to Great Danes, all going mad. We were there with Carly's Rogue (the dark one) and Jules' Clive (that's right, Clive the pug) so that's why all the pics are of them. The little dude is Carly's boy Bailey.
Dog body-surfing hehehe :)

Rogue chases the ball, and Clive chases Rogue...

Flirty dog visits Carly and Jules ;)

Sydney: Day 7 - Newtown

It was time to go home. :( But when home is the West coast of Australia, it's not so bad! hehehehe
We had an excellent breakfast in Newtown, which is nice and eclectic:

Some Sydney/Newtown style houses:

For silly tourists:

Originally this was a day I would be fending for myself a bit and catching a cab to the airport, but Dave and Nicole had to cancel some plans so we got in a last bit of hanging out before it was time to head for the airport... Dave in his element:

Bye guys, and thanks soooooooo much! Everything was amazing!
